Jakarta, June 19, 2026. The issue of affordable housing availability for the younger generation is the focus of research raised in the dissertation defense of the Doctoral Program in Economics at Trisakti University. Doctoral candidate Cahyo Satrio Prakoso underwent a closed dissertation defense on Friday (June 19, 2026) with a theme relevant to the current socio-economic challenges of urban communities. In his dissertation entitled “Demand for Affordable Housing Among the Younger Generation in Jakarta.”.

The dissertation defense was held from 10:45 to 11:45 WIB and was led by Prof. Dr. Yolanda Masnita Siagian, CIRR, CMA, CPM as Chair of the Defense. Also present as Promoter were Prof. Dr. Khomsiyah, Ak, CA, FCMA, CGMA, and Dr. Nirdukita Ratnawati, ME as Co-Promoter. The examining team also consisted of Dr. Husna Leila Yusran, MM, CMA, CPMA and Dr. Tri Kunawangsih P., M.Si. The defense process was documented by Dr. Harmaini as the notary.

The research findings are expected to contribute to the development of more inclusive and sustainable housing policies, while also serving as an academic reference for developing an Islamic economy responsive to the needs of modern society. This study is also expected to provide input for stakeholders in designing housing provision strategies that align with the characteristics and financial capabilities of the younger generation.

The dissertation defense is part of Trisakti University’s efforts to encourage the birth of innovative research that can answer various national development issues through a comprehensive and solution-oriented academic approach.
